We were appointed by a private client to design and construct this new-build house. Working closely with the client on every aspect of the details, we delivered a cost effective yet high-end and high-performing family home.
We took a Passivehaus approach to the design that included extensive thermal insulation, low air permeability of the envelope, and the use of solid blockwork to partitions & internal skin of the external walls to enhance thermal massing properties. An air sourced heat pump serves under floor heating throughout, alongside a solar thermal array for hot water. Whole house ventilation with heat recovery, use of recycled aggregates, zero ozone depleting insulants, use of PEFC certified timber throughout, LED lighting and low-consumption water fittings resulted in a highly sustainable build and reduced running costs for this client.
