Battledore were appointed by Beardwell Construction to undertake the mechanical services installation for the comprehensive refurbishment of this historic building which was previously the first Medical School in London. We undertook the replacement of LPHW heating by DX heat pump fan coil units and cassettes. We also updated the various ventilation systems including MVHR’s and heat recovery Air Handling Units. The Student Union have a new kitchen and Bar/Social area, and the historic Library was upgraded to a student leisure zone. Final contract value in excess of £1.5M. The project had it’s challenging moments, as the refurbishment started before the design was complete, we fully supported Beardwell in their proactive attitude to getting the project finished in time for the students to use.
